MayWe Events specialise in high quality, client-focused event, arts and cultural management. With a dedicated core team who collectively have over 50 years’ worth of experience in the sector, our reputation is built on delivering bespoke arts and cultural experiences, client care and the creative drive to go the extra mile.
Based in Belfast, offering services UK wide, MayWe prides itself on offering a wrap around event service, with meticulous attention to detail. A MayWe event is like no other, we have access to a wide and varied range of high standard skill sets, networks and resources on offer to design, market, deliver and evaluate exciting and innovative events and experiences from start to finish. We enjoy a challenge, and nothing is out of the question!
Meet Lois
Lois gained a first class honours degree in Leisure, Events and Cultural Management as well as a diploma in Industrial Studies from the University of Ulster. She has pursued a successful career in the arts and events sector with over 20 years of event management, venue and duty management experience within private companies and the public sector, including global conferences and outdoor events.

Lois has worked world-wide for event management company Catalyst Events, was a longstanding member of the duty management team for ICC Belfast and Belfast Waterfront and Ulster Halls and then for Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council before setting up MayWe Events with business partner Sarah-Jane in 2019. She also ran her own successful business Debutots for ten years which offered drama in education services to schools, youth groups and early years settings.

An accomplished, highly experienced and qualified event manager, Lois has a proven record in management, logistical planning and smooth delivery of a diverse range of campaigns and projects from community events to large scale international ones. Lois loves working with people and building relationships and manages the operational side of MayWe Events.
Meet Sarah-Jane
Sarah-Jane Montgomery | Joint Managing Director
Sarah-Jane graduated from The University of Manchester with an MA in Arts Management, Policy and Practice following a first-class honours degree in Contemporary Art History. Before setting up MayWe Events with business partner Lois, Sarah-Jane was part of the duty management team for ICC Belfast, Belfast Waterfront and Ulster Halls. Here she managed a large range of entertainment, conference and business events over a 5 year period.
Sarah-Jane began her career working to improve the lives of communities through tailored creative interventions after specialising in arts for health and creative learning throughout her academic education. She has held arts and cultural roles for a variety of UK based charities as well as working as working as a freelance arts manager and facilitator for 10 years.
Sarah-Jane has a particular interest in creative direction of events and programming and is skilled at interpreting clients’ needs to create exciting events. She is passionate about bringing innovative, accessible, cultural experiences to audiences in the UK and Ireland. She has a meticulous eye for detail whether it be a community arts programme or a large-scale public event and understands the importance of the audience experience, always placing that at the centre of event design. Sarah-Jane is responsible for programme and event design and communications within MayWe Events.
Meet Eimear
Eimear Burton | Venue and Events Manager
Eimear is an experienced venue and events manager, with over 22 years in the global events industry. A language graduate from Trinity College in Dublin, Eimear is an internationally renowned industry professional, committed to providing a safe, secure and engaging customer experience.
Eimear has been responsible for the planning, production, on-site management and successful delivery of over 2,000 live events from international association conferences and exhibitions, to local and national government events, trade shows, VIP gala dinners, press launches, international presidential, ministerial and royal visits, weddings and civic ceremonies, globally televised sporting events, world film premieres, entertainment events and concerts and community engagement programmes.
She is passionate about placemaking and always strives to showcase Belfast and Northern Ireland as an unparalleled destination in which to visit, work, live and invest. Eimear spent 12 years as a freelance site/production manager to festivals including: Feile An Phobail, Culture Night Belfast, Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival, Belfast International Festival, St Patrick’s Day Festivals in Belfast & Dublin and City of Culture 2013 Derry/ Londonderry.
Meet Ruby
Ruby O’Rourke | Events and Marketing Officer

Ruby has a Masters degree in Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies from the University of Ulster. Prior to this, she obtained a BSc in Archaeology-Palaeoecology from Queens University Belfast. Ruby joined the MayWe team in 2021, she has 5 years’ experience organising and delivering a wide range of arts and cultural events in Northern Ireland, with a specific focus on creative programming. Her previous roles have included Duty Manager, Events Officer, Project Coordinator and Museum Officer. Ruby is exploring her keen interest of Digital Marketing and manages a range of social media pages for MayWe and our clients.

Meet Catherine
Catherine Rogers | Finance Manager
Having completed studying in 2003, Catherine worked her way from Finance Assistant to Finance Manager within a UK based charity before stepping down to concentrate on her young family in 2019. Catherine has extensive knowledge of website and database design, maintaining business and charity accounts, processing payroll & completing monitoring and financial returns for funders. Outside MayWe, Catherine keeps busy as the Treasurer for 1st Hillsborough Scouts. Catherine joined the MayWe team in 2021 and has since enjoyed using her invaluable skills in new & innovative ways.
